I like how occasionally Facebook will post a picture and say “look what you posted one year ago today.’ It always brings a wave of nostalgia, a feeling of wondering where the time went, and sometimes a disbelief that it has already been a full year since the occasion mentioned on Facebook took place.
Where were you a year ago today? What pictures did you post on Facebook, or share on Instagram? For Holy Cross Lutheran Academy we were finishing up SAT testing, in planning sessions for starting an UpWard program, and had just officially signed the paperwork that would make us the new owners of the Aero Lane property.
A lot has happened in the past year. HCLA has gone through tremendous changes and faced many new situations. While our resources have been expanded, so have our challenges and opportunities for growth. Through it all, I see God’s hand in place. He has sent us the people needed ‘for the job’ at just the right time, given us the strength to persevere in the midst of obstacles, and opened doors of opportunity that have blessed our school in so many ways.
As I reflect on this Throwback Thursday, I am a bit nostalgic for ‘the way it used to be’, a small school where I instantly knew everybody’s name. I do wonder where the time went and can’t believe we are planning for another round of End of Year Award programs.. But I am also excited for all that we are now able to offer and do at HCLA, providing more students with the chance to receive a quality Christian education. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do in the next year and on what I will be reflecting at the end of April 2016.
