2s, 3s and 4 YEAR OLDS/vpk

EXPLORING THE WORLD THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD!  Our preschool staff is committed to making your child’s transition from home to school a fun, welcoming and loving experience.  We will work closely with you to ensure your child’s first learning experiences are positive and enjoyable.  We provide a developmentally appropriate academic program that will build a solid foundation for a lifelong love of learning while fostering their spiritual development.

Learn about our Kindergarten Prep class.   Kindergarten Prep is a full school day integrated within our elementary program.  This class is designed for mature 4 year olds to get a head start on their educational journey at HCLA.  Utilizing the foundation of a Kindergarten curriculum, an Elementary Teacher will introduce students to literary and mathematical concepts.  Students will also learn the important developmental skills such as working with others, communicating with peers and adults, and fostering a curiosity for knowledge through exploration and play.   Students in our Kindergarten Prep class will get priority Kindergarten enrollment the following school year.

Our nurturing teachers know how to ease the fear of separation for both parent and child. Your child will develop their independence while still feeling safe and secure. Our program provides ample opportunities for your child to make new friends, explore their creativity and experience learning in a social environment. Potty training skills learned at home are reinforced by our staff.

Our three year old program is designed to promote learning through purposeful play and exploration. Our focus on pre-reading, math and problem solving equips your child with a solid foundation for future learning. Through art, music, outdoor activities and play we enhance your child’s creativity and motor skills. Sharing, helping and listening are reinforced in order to aid in social development.

Our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) 4 year old program provides an opportunity for your child to develop school readiness skills in an environment that encourages him or her to have fun while learning. Our four year old/VPK program is taught by VPK-certified teachers and offer fifteen hours of VPK instruction per week.

In order to be eligible for Florida’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program your child must turn 4 by September 1st.

What would we want to say here to summarize our program.  What makes us different?

Creative Curriculum

Our teachers use Creative Curriculum in the classroom.  This play-based curriculum allows teachers to assess how their students learn best and modify their teaching according to those needs.

Christian Faith

We believe it is very important to instill a love for Jesus at an early age.  Through songs, bible stories, and activities they hear about Jesus daily!  Students attend Chapel or get visits from our pastors on a weekly basis.

Extracurricular Activities

We have a variety of extracurricular activities to include gymnastics, soccer, languages, and technology activities.  These activities vary by campus and may rotate on a daily basis.

Art and Music

There are many studies about the importance of learning with art and music.  Plus it is just plain enjoyable so we include this throughout the week including worship music in Chapel.
